Let's be real here. We need more old people to die before marijuana will be legalized.

Some oldsters are cool enough to see the hypocrisy in marijuana prohibition. Far too many still buy into the jazz-aged reefer-madness stereotypes. Old people don't like change and no one likes to admit they're wrong, so the war to legalize weed will probably have to take place at a latter date and another time.

The facts are in. Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol. Marijuana has found to be helpful to some people. Marijuana users have proven to actually be a benefit to the economy of the states they live in. Legalizing marijuana cuts out drug gangs who bring it in anyways. Marijuana laws put otherwise innocent and non-violent people behind bars.

Marijuana could make Texas the most prosperous state in the Union, but we're stuck in old lies and beliefs.

I am not a smoker, but mostly because I don't want smoke in my lungs after a couple decades long cigarette habit. I do not have a dog in this fight. I still think the legalization of marijuana is one of the most blatantly obvious corrections we could make to U.S. drug policy.
