It's the time of year to celebrate summer coming, kick back, relax, enjoy live music and a little vino and help Lubbock Meals on Wheels at the same time.

The 5th Annual Lubbock Wines & Vines will be Friday, May 13, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, May 14, 2016, from Noon to 8 p.m at McPherson Cellars, 1615 Texas Avenue.

Some of the best wineries in West Texas will be on hand so you can sample by the glass or by the bottle!

There will also be lots of live music, food trucks and vendors featuring Texas specialty products.

And if you're a straight up beer guy or girl, then raise 'em up!  Triple J's will be on hand with craft beers at their beer booth!

For food aficionados, there will also be the Hub City Master Chef Competition sponsored by Big Plate Restaurant Supply, which till take place Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $20 for one day, $30 for two days and $15 per day without wine or beer tasting.

The one day rate includes 10 wine tasting tickets.  The two day rate includes 20 wine tasting tickets.  Both also include a commemorative wine glass.

And the best part is that 100% of the proceeds benefit Lubbock Meals on Wheels. One of my favorite non profits in West Texas!

Last year $18,000 was raised which provided for 3600 meals.  And we might think, wow, that must have been enough for a couple of months!  Well, try one week's worth of meals.

Lubbock Meals on Wheels serves over 700 people per day, bringing nutritious meals to shut ins and also a friendly face and human connection.

So we will see you there to have fun and help this amazing group!
