A Brief History Of Iron Maiden In Lubbock

Here's an interesting question, will noted troll, station friend, personal friend Art Villarreal write "Iron Maiden" underneath a post about Iron Maiden? It's a paradox. It's like staring down a hall of mirrors. It could cause some rip in space and time.

Let's talk "back in the day".  Trolls these days like to bitch about Five Finger Death Punch coming to town once a year. Back in the day, Iron Maiden would come to town about every nine months (for Pantera is was even more frequent). Well, due to this frequency, I had a lot of promotional experiences with Maiden.  When Piece Of Mind came out I came up with the idea for us to giveaway an autographed straightjacket. I can't remember who I called (this is before the internet) but I was able to score a new one locally.  It was such a popular promotion that management ended up calling me for the contact number and ordered tons to giveaway that whole tour.  The next time they came to town, I went full on medieval and we gave away really steel battle axes (yes, we gave away WEAPONS).  The third visit was the one that went down in history though, it was the one where I arranged a soccer game between Iron Maiden and Texas Tech soccer (in case you're wondering, Tech  won).  I kind of think that's cool for FMX and for Tech, because I don't think Iron Maiden ever played against any other college teams.

So there's a brief history of FMX, Iron Maiden and me. Now if we could only get them to come back.

Also-The first time I saw groupie boobs (FREE BOOBS) was backstage at a Maiden show.
