Following the horrific shooting that led to Christina Grimmie‘s untimely death on Friday night at a concert in Orlando (June 10), the former Voice contestant’s coach on the show, Adam Levine, is stepping in to personally pay for the funeral arrangements according to her brother, Marcus.

In an update on Facebook, the brother of the late singer shared information about the kind efforts being made by others in helping to alleviate his family’s pain.

“I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away,” he wrote.

Adam mentored Christina Grimmie during Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, during which she placed as a Top 3 finalist.

“Christina was a natural. A gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon. This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world,” Levine said in a statement to ET on Saturday (June 11).

Along with Levine’s contribution, Marcus also pointed out that Brian Teefey, his sister’s manager, created a GoFundMe to help with the family’s funeral plans.

“Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k. Words cannot express…literally I have no words. I promise both my parents and I will read every one of these personalized messages. I’m so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten,” he wrote.

Marcus insisted that donations to the GoFundMe were not necessary, but encouraged mourners to share memories of his sister in the comments — and to make one specific gesture in his sister’s honor involving her favorite video game.

“Please do not feel the need to donate anything at all. Please. Just leave a kind word, message or picture in the comments or message me and sign this petition to help Christina possible be remembered in the next Legend of Zelda game, her favorite game of all time.”

The New Jersey-born singer was just 22 years old when she was fatally shot while signing autographs at a concert in Orlando on Friday night.
