With the Walking Dead blowing up on TV, a lot of people are going back and checking out the graphic novels (just a tip, they're almost two different stories).  Now, if you want to get ahead of the game, check out some of the "Odd Thomas" books ahead of the movie adaptation.  More after the jump.

"Odd Thomas" is a short-order cook that has psychic abilities.  He can also see dead people.  In the book, the ghost of Elvis sometimes visits Odd, and if I remember right, so does the ghost of Frank Sinatra.  One of the most memorable things in the books are the "Bodachs".  When there is about to be evil, massive death or things of that like, Odd sees these dark, shadowy malevolent figures appear.

I haven't read the entire series, but the first four were awesome.  It appears the movie that is based on the first book will be out around May.  Get a head start on these books now if you can. Here's a link to this Dean Koontz series right here.

Anton Yelchin who played Chekov in the new Star Trek and the star of the Fright Night remake will star as "Odd Thomas"
