Advice From Two Old Men

Every once in a while someone will say something to you that will echo through your whole life.  I'm cautioning you now, I'm going to give you a single sentence and it will repeat in your head over and over at various points in your life.

Ready for little old school wisdom?  My uncle Bear told me, "Life goes by fast, you'll just wake up one day and you'll be old".  Out of nowhere, grey hair, achy knees or grown kids. It happens quick.

I tell you this not to bum you out but to encourage you to embrace what you've got.  First, if you're happy, you're happy.  If you have a minimum wage job but can make ends meets and you'd rather have the extra time to spend with your friends and family, then don't let anyone tell you you have 'no ambition'.  On the other hand, if you're unhappy with your situation, then make a jump.  No matter what your beliefs or lack of beliefs are, everyone agrees you only  get one shot as a human on this earth.  Be happy and try not to make other people unhappy. It's as simple as that.
