Alamo Drafthouse to Show the Best/Worst Movie Ever 'The Room"

Is it possible to be the best worst something? If it is, then the prime example in film is Tommy Wiseau's The Room.

By all reasonable metrics, The Room is a terrible movie, but it's also a wonderful, great and fantastic movie. If you've seen it, you can understand what I'm saying.

The acting is completely disjointed, inflected oddly and just- unconvincing at all times. The narrative is miraculously both confusing and predictable. At no point can the person viewing the film "buy" anything that this movie is selling. The dialogue is hilariously ridiculous, with now classic dialogue like this intense scene:

Johnny: I kill you, you bastard!
Mark: You couldn't kill me if you tried.
Johnny: You betrayed me! You're not good. You, you're just a chicken. Chip-chip-chip-chip-cheep-cheep.

Personally, I love The Room, perhaps because its so earnest it hurts. I've found that people who love film as an art form have a tender spot for the naively terrible. This film is the king of unintended hilarity. I do, however, recommend watching this film with friends and an opportunity to see it with a room full of friends is coming to Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock on Saturday, November 4th at 10 p.m.

Alamo's movie parties provide a Rocky Horror-esque atmosphere in which quoting along, cheering and use of interactive (and provided) props is not only allowed, but encouraged.
