Lubbock lit up when Alien Ant Farm and Kaleido rocked the Depot District's BackStage Thursday night.

If you haven't heard of Kaleido, it's time to get your head out of the sand. The Detroit five-piece has been around for three years and has already rocked Van's Warped Tour in 2012 and 2013, the 2013 Uproar Festival and opened for Kid Rock and Evanescence. Kaleido's second album "Unbreakable" came out March 2014.

Vocalist Christina Chriss -- all tattoos, leather and wide-eyed attitude -- pounced around the stage (think: a more bad-ass Gwen Stefani) and won fans over by refuting a certain popular singer's suggestion that rock is dead.

Alien Ant Farm, currently tearing up the country on their "ANTarchy in the USA" tour, reminded Lubbock that rock shows can be fun. The group fed off the crowd's energy, playing their big MTV video hit "Movies" and new single "Homage."
