This works on two levels. #1. Do they truly think these things? And #2. Why are they dumb enough to say them in public. The latest fiasco is from the Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller had a picture posted on his Facebook of a nuclear bomb going off with the caption, "It's Time We Made Peace With The Muslim World". Miller blamed his staff, but refused to apologize for it. Now let's back up a bit.

First off, the sentiment "Let's bomb them all and let god sort them out" is nothing new. It's just really crass and doesn't keep in mind the bulk of 1.5 million Muslims that are peaceful.

Next up, does the guy truly believe this? If so, do we really want that kind of guy in charge? Even then, he's just an Ag Commissioner, it's not like he's in charge of bombs. Once again, he says a staffer did it, but he's not backing away from the statement/meme himself.

Then there's the fact that an elected official should really be smarter than this. We all think a lot of things that should not be said aloud.

So, once again, Texas is the laughingstock of the nation. We look like a bunch of half-cocked cowboy rubes with a shoot first and ask questions later way of doing business.  We now have Governor Greg Abbott reacting to Jade Helm nuts, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick who thinks god speaks to us through Duck Dynasty and now, and Ag Commissioner who at least condones the notion that blowing up half the world is a good idea.
