The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders 49-28 Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.

The Razorbacks used a one-two punch of running backs Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins (pictured) to gain yards and chew up clock against an overmatched Red Raider defense.  Williams finished the game with 145 yards on 22 carries and 4 touchdowns. His counterpart Collins passed the 200-yard mark with 212 yards rushing on 27 carries and 2 touchdowns. In fact, all seven Razorback touchdowns came on the ground.

Concerning the Razorbacks rushing attack, Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury said, "...we knew it was coming, we just didn't get it stopped. But, you've got to give them credit. They lined up and pounded us, and we just didn't have an answer today."

The exclamation point on the game came at 10:56 mark of the fourth quarter, as Collins busted a play through right tackle and turned it into an 84 yard rushing touchdown.

The Razorbacks had four drives last over six minutes time of possession, three of them netted touchdowns and the fourth drive was the final possession of the game burning the last 9:10. Final time of possession was Arkansas 40:39 and Texas Tech 19:21. The Razorbacks also took advantage of three Red Raider turnovers, including a Jakeem Grant fumble early in the first quarter which allowed them to tie the game at 7-7.

Davis Webb had an average day at quarterback, 27/45 passing for 252 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech's record is now (2-1) and they have a bye week before playing at Oklahoma State on September 25.

Game Notes:  Arkansas is now the top rushing team in the nation, averaging 7.9 yards per carry after Saturday's win.

Saturday's game featured Texas Tech wearing uniforms that matched the 1990's Zack Thomas-era. It was also the annual Celebrate Cotton Game for Texas Tech.
