It had been three years since Asking Alexandria released From Death to Destiny and the band saw plenty of changes over that short time, including a singer switch. But that didn't deter the band from their fourth studio effort, The Black, which has now netted the British group their third consecutive Top 10 position of their career. The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Asking Alexandria gave fans a few tracks to digest before the album's release on March 25, serving up songs like the aggressive "Let it Sleep" and showcasing their lighter moments on "Here I Am." The album saw the metalcore act improve across all fronts, employing clever song arrangements and a keen sense of dynamics. The disc also marked the debut of new singer Denis Stoff. The Black shifted 30,000 equivalent album units in its opening week with streaming services accounting for some of the numbers.

Stoff replaced the group's previous singer, Danny Worsnop, after his exit last year. The parting was slightly messy as the group felt Worsnop had lost the passion for their music, leading to some jabs from guitarist Ben Bruce. In an exclusive interview, Bruce talked to Loudwire about taking Stoff on the road before hitting the studio, saying, "It was awesome, you know, because we’ve been so burned out touring with Danny for so long. It was just tough on us on having a frontman that just didn’t care. So, you know, bringing Denis out on the road for the first time this year, it gave us all a new lease on life. It made us all fall back in love with this band again and fall back in love with writing music and playing music together."

Look for Asking Alexandria out on the road with Bullet for My Valentine on the "British Invasion" tour. The trek kicks off on April 30 at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, Fla. and will come to a close on May 29 at the River City Rockfest in San Antonio, Texas.
