Wes

I joined the FMX staff not long after the station was formed in 1981. Worked my way up to mornings (The Breakfast Flakes) & bossman. Did radio Austin for a couple years, and about a year and a half in lovely Spokane Washington. Got a call to come back to Lubbock as bossman and did not leave. Did mornings as "Jacqui & Wes", rocked some middays and eventually put the RockShow together with the Heathen. I am also midday host on another one for the most respected radio stations in America, the legendary Rock 108 in Abilene and enjoy my many visits to the city. I love blogging and am one of the most widely read bloggers in the company with over a million page views last year. I work on several websites and a bunch of social media. I am not afraid of stating ANY opinion; I feel it's important to be real. I am co-owner of Nightmare on 19th Street and the soon to be launched "Freaky Tiki Tavern" in Lubbock. I believe strongly in blood donation and in helping animals. My musical tastes are all over the map.

Thoughts on the Resignation of McKinney Police Officer Eric Casebolt

Officer Eric Casebolt has resigned, and the McKinney Police Department has labeled his actions "indefensible" and "out of control."

Casebolt has been seen the past few days in a video showing him running around like a madman and flinging a 15-year-old girl to the ground. Casebolt will get to keep the pension and benefits that he built up over his ten year career.

Phil Labonte Talks Passionately About The Light And Dark In All That Remains [Interview]

Phil Labonte has no problem offering an opinion on anything. Other journalists use this as an opportunity to grab a quick headline over whatever his making news at the time. I wanted to talk actual music with Phil, because it's the dynamics of All That Remains that fascinate me.  Phil responded with eight great minutes of back and forth that really sum up the bands attitude, writing styles and putting it all together for live performances.

I Have Concerns About The Bathroom Tissue Industry

I am annoyed at Charmin's claim that they are "America's Softest Bathroom Tissue". That statement leaves me with so many more questions than answers. First among my concerns is, "how come no one in the toilet paper business calls it toilet paper?". They always go with "bathroom tissue". I don't know about you, but I'm uncomfortable saying "tissue". Every time I say "tissue" I feel like a sound like a French guy in the middle of a sneeze.

Local TV Station Stirs Up the Jade Helm Nonsense Again

I was just about to write a blog about how all this Jade Helm nonsense had died down since Texas needed aid from the floods. I had no interest in stirring up the Jade Helm stuff, it just seemed odd how conveniently and coincidentally it went away when we needed federal funds.

Now, a good month or so after all of this WAS news, KCBD aired a ludicrous report "investigating" Jade Helm.

When I saw the teaser, I seriously checked to see if I was watching a show from a month ago on my DVR.

Are We Seriously Debating the Use of the Word ‘Hero’?

I do not care about Bruce Jenner or his conversion to female. It means nothing to me. For others that have fought that fight, he/she is a "hero/heroine."

Now, those with a very narrow definition of the word are posting memes and inundating social media with pictures of war heroes stating defiantly "THIS is a hero." Sorry, but both are correct.
