Wes

I have a beautiful wife and daughter, I absolutely love to rock and I occasionally pickup the bass guitar (a lack of talent has never stopped me).  Among my other interests are horror movies, tattoos and computer RTS games.  I have a cat named Wolf. I am one of the Co-Owners of Nightmare On 19th Street.

FMX Purple Party: Could Magic Happen? [VIDEO]

We've had our share of "magic moments" in Lubbock. The guys in Slayer said playing "Reign In Blood" during a West Texas thunderstorm was one of their favorite moments ever.  Lubbock is one of the few places that saw Amy Lee sing with Seether.  How about when Corey Taylor came out and kicked beach balls during Halestorm's set?

Batman Arkham Knight Trailer Is Awesome [VIDEO]

The trailer for the new Batman game is here and it looks amazeballs. I'm just getting back into video gaming myself and I find the Batman series of games to be some of that coolest around. New Rule For Politicians: No Robodials.

So I came home from a hard day working on Nightmare on 19th Street (gratuitous plug) and my home answering machine is beeping like the oven does when it hit's 350 degrees. I listen in and what do I get?  Four phone calls, each from a politician.  It was rather clever of those politicians to exclude themselves from being put on the no-dial lists, wasn't it?

5 Things To Do Instead Of Watching The Oscars

The Oscars are this weekend and, who cares?  These people make bazillions of dollars and I really don't want to hear speeches where they thank a bunch of agents and insiders and all that nonsense.  Off course us guys always watched for the cleavage and hope for a nip-slip that never happens (and if it did these days, it would be all over YouTube the next day anyways).  Spend your time more productively with some of the suggestions I have for you.

Other Great West Texas Festivals

I thought I'd take a minute to look at some of the other great big shows happening around the area.  Wait, there are none.  No one is heading to Amarillo for their rock stations party.  Midland-Odessa gets a few good shows, but not really festivals.  Abilene turns out great for small club shows, and the only thing Wichita Falls has on their concert calendar is REO Speedwagon.
