Wes

I joined the FMX staff not long after the station was formed in 1981. Worked my way up to mornings (The Breakfast Flakes) & bossman. Did radio Austin for a couple years, and about a year and a half in lovely Spokane Washington. Got a call to come back to Lubbock as bossman and did not leave. Did mornings as "Jacqui & Wes", rocked some middays and eventually put the RockShow together with the Heathen. I am also midday host on another one for the most respected radio stations in America, the legendary Rock 108 in Abilene and enjoy my many visits to the city. I love blogging and am one of the most widely read bloggers in the company with over a million page views last year. I work on several websites and a bunch of social media. I am not afraid of stating ANY opinion; I feel it's important to be real. I am co-owner of Nightmare on 19th Street and the soon to be launched "Freaky Tiki Tavern" in Lubbock. I believe strongly in blood donation and in helping animals. My musical tastes are all over the map.

You Won’t Believe How A School in Plainview Dealt With a Student’s Haircut

Have your ever noticed that the smaller the town, the more they seem to worry about inconsequential BS? You can love small towns all you want, but there is a definite tendency for some people to put their nose in other peoples business. There's also small town bias, prejudices and a genuine lack of understand of whats important in the real world.

The Real Five: AC/DC Songs With Bon Scott [VIDEO]

Wow, this list ended up being an eye-opener even for me. The Real Five is the top five most played songs. The idea behind this list is it is indisputable and critic proof. You can claim one song is better than another, but most played is most played and that is it. The first couple on the list were givens, but I was a little bit surprised at #4 and #5.

Texas Tech High Jumper Suspended For Hilarious Crime

Dayton Fisher of the Texas Tech Track & Field Team has been suspended, FOR BEING HILARIOUS.  Actually no, it was for misdemeanor theft and being a minor who's had a drinky poo.  None of this would be news, but he tried pulling one of the gags that we've all thought of when we've had too much to drink.

Are We Getting Less Girl Scouts Cookies For Our Money?

One problem I have with all food distributors is, they tendency to shrink portions rather than raise prices. Your local vending machine is the best example of this where you get a bag of air with a few chips in it for $75.  It seems the Girl Scouts are not exempt from this either, but it's very hard to get solid answers.

Senator Charles Perry Thinks the Current Amount of Poison in Your Water Is Fine

Do you realize that people are living longer than ever before? Know why that is? It's because of science. We've learned to not do stupid stuff that kills us earlier. We've learned preventative medicine and how to put safety guards on machines so our arms don't get ripped off.

This is why I find State Senator Charles Perry's stance on improved water standards completely anti-intellectual, dangerous and asinine.
