I completely admire the kids at O'Donnell High School speaking up for something they are passionate about. I hope that serves them well throughout their lives. Unfortunately, they're on the wrong side of this issue.

For those who are unaware, the Ten Commandments were painted on a wall inside the school and someone contacted the Freedom From Religion Foundation over it.

Anybody with Google can tell you that that is not going to fly. It will not stand. It has been proven over and over that you can't mix religion with public schools (and yes, that means you can't have organized prayer at football games).

The main problem here is the adults here aren't being adults and appear to be encouraging, if not facilitating, these protests.

Even worse, for those of you O'Donnell kids reading, you ARE bullying those who want no part of this or the disruptions to your classrooms. We have received private messages from members of your community who don't want to speak out. I think it's also very telling that some people want the original complainant to "stand up" if they have a problem with this (which is very passive-aggressive).

My question is: Why? So you can egg their house, slash their tires or beat them up after school? Shoot them nasty looks in the hallway or grocery store? I've lived in a small town and I know that people will do the most heinous of things when they think they are morally right.

I know you're hoping for a fairy tale ending so you can have your God's favor and/or sell the rights for the movie, "Gods Not Dead III: The O'Donnell Eagles Soar." It's not going to happen. These adults are shuffling off their personal mistakes and legal responsibilities on you so that people will be more sympathetic to your cause. Your school WILL be sued. It's an easy win and costs less to sue than a larger school district.

History is full of times when the majority persecuted the minority and were wrong. Witches (who weren't actually witches) were burnt, those that thought the world was round were killed as heretics, and so on. This is the reason we protect minorities and thinkers; sometimes they are 100 percent correct.

Let's look at this simply: Should 99 smokers be able to force one person to smoke? I would hope not.

Someday, these kids will move away from this town of less than 850 people. They will experience different cultures, religions and ways of thinking. They will be forced to think critically, logically and, most importantly, fairly. The adults in this situation need to start behaving like the authority figures they are paid to be and diffuse this situation.

And remember, like I said in a previous video about this situation: NO ONE CAN TAKE YOUR FAITH. But we can ask that you keep it to yourself.
