The fine people of England celebrate St. George's Day, St. David's Day and May Day to name a few, but if the Council Cabinet can agree, the citizens of Birmingham, England will pay tribute to the city's metal heroes with "Black Sabbath Day".

Not only is this idea long over due, but Council member Philip Parkin sees the oppurtunity to take advantage of the fact that Black Sabbath will headline this summer's Download Festival  along with Metallica and The Prodigy. The Council cabinet is exploring how best to pay tribute to the band and the possibility of a "Black Sabbath Day" are in early discussions.

The original Black Sabbath line-up is currently holed-up in a London studio working on their first studio album in 33 years, with plans for a world tour to follow.
