Blue Bell ice cream makes its triumphant return Monday, Dec. 14. Ty Koontz, sales manager at the company, stopped by the FMX studios to talk with The RockShow about the ice cream's long-awaited comeback and what flavors Lubbock consumers should expect to see in stores.

"We've been, for the last three weeks or so, in all the stores getting them ready to fill back up with the best ice cream in the country," said Koontz.

According to Koontz, Blue Bell is focusing on hitting the basics when it re-introduces its products.

"We'll be coming back with a limited flavor line," Koontz said. "We'll have seven flavors coming back: Homemade Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, The Great Divide, Cookies 'N Cream, Butter Pecan, Pistachio Almond and for the holidays we'll have Peppermint."

To say people have missed Blue Bell ice cream in Texas would be an understatement. Koontz said that that desire to have the product back in stores is a blessing.

"It's been overwhelming the response we've had," said Koontz. "We've been very blessed, we have great relationships with all the retailers here."
