Ah, yes; the "playoffs" of NASCAR have officially arrived. Chicagoland held the first race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup and a surprise contender emerged and held his own in the final laps.

That surprise contender? Rookie Kyle Larson. Larson wheeled for the last 20 laps in his Target Chevy, battling with Kevin Harvick, who would wind up fifth behind fourth place Joey Logano. Larson would battle with Jeff Gordon also before eventually ending up finishing third.

Jeff Gordon and Keselowski also had a shootout to the finish, but the Blue Deuce was just too strong and earned the first win of this year's Chase.

Next week, we head to New Hampshire.
