It was a good day in my household, as Jeff Gordon pulled out a win in the last race of the 2012 season.

Jimmie Johnson finally had his good fortune run out as his car malfunctioned during the waning laps of the race, allowing Brad Keselowski to hold on for the Sprint Cup Series championship.

During that drama, Jeff Gordon was trying to hold off a bitter and angry Clint Bowyer peddling his way to Gordon, trying to close the gap from second to first. Gas was a concern for both cars as well, as pit strategies had been assorted all day. Gordon held Bowyer off to finally achieve his and Hendrick Motorsports' first win at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Sadly, the season is over, which means we won't see the boys in action until late February, but it was a good season.

Thanks for reading.
