You may not realize it, but I don't have a problem admitting when I'm wrong. The reason you rarely hear about me admitting when I'm wrong is because I seldom am (just joking, okay?).

So, a story made the rounds earlier this week that you could get 15 years for having oral or anal sex in Michigan. It's technically not 100% true, but the language is kind of there.  It has to do with the way a law was written to prevent animal cruelty and bestiality.  Now what happened was a blogger in Texas took that language and it blew up so fast that when you went to check a source on the story, there were tons of them. Still today, there are more stories on the web about this law being true than there are retractions.

Laying this out simply, the language in the law should have been removed, but it takes committees to do that and the lawmakers were more concerned with getting the bill through than making sure it couldn't be misinterpreted.  The fact is that sodomy laws are unenforceable since since the Supreme Court struck down the Texas sodomy law in 2003.

So this instance of government intervention ended up being a non-starter. I still stand by the rest of my blog. Whether it's weed or weird sex (with a consenting adult), you aren't free unless you're free to do what you want with your own body.
