Brian Vickers Earns Huge Win in Loudon
New Hampshire is an odd place. No wonder they call it the “Magic Mile.” Brian Vickers, part time driver for Michael Waltrip Racing, got a chance at a gigantic victory near the end of Sunday’s Sylvania 300 and capitalized on it.
All kinds of pandemonium ensued throughout the afternoon, with Denny Hamlin bouncing back from a spin earlier in the mid-afternoon, Jeff Gordon coming from 23rd with a handful of laps to finish 10th, Jimmie Johnson (of course) coming from dead last at the start of the race to finish sixth, and another surprise, Jeff Burton earning a rare top five.
Aric Almirola finishing fourth and certainly Brian Vickers taking the checkered flag tops off the day’s bundle of debauchery, however.
I was wrong last week, as THIS week we take off and THEN we go to the famed Brickyard. Stay tuned.
