New Hampshire is an odd place. No wonder they call it the "Magic Mile." Brian Vickers, part time driver for Michael Waltrip Racing, got a chance at a gigantic victory near the end of Sunday's Sylvania 300 and capitalized on it.

All kinds of pandemonium ensued throughout the afternoon, with Denny Hamlin bouncing back from a spin earlier in the mid-afternoon, Jeff Gordon coming from 23rd with a handful of laps to finish 10th, Jimmie Johnson (of course) coming from dead last at the start of the race to finish sixth, and another surprise, Jeff Burton earning a rare top five.

Aric Almirola finishing fourth and certainly Brian Vickers taking the checkered flag tops off the day's bundle of debauchery, however.

I was wrong last week, as THIS week we take off and THEN we go to the famed Brickyard. Stay tuned.
