Fire Alarm During Live NBC News Broadcast Is No Match For Brian Williams [VIDEO]

A fire alarm went off during Tuesday’s NBC’s ‘Nightly News’ broadcast, creating a distraction during a story about American Airlines filing for bankruptcy.

Thankfully, super-smooth newscaster Brian Williams was in the anchor desk to face off against the fire alarm with his signature unflappable charm. 

“You’ll forgive us, we have a fire alarm announcement going on here,’ Williams explained calmly, and continued to deliver the news as the audience could hear evacuation instructions being recited over NBC’s PA system.

After about 40 seconds, the alarm got really loud, but Williams, who had assured viewers he wasn’t in any danger, remained unfazed, finishing his segment and then kicking over to reporter Tom Costello.
