I'm thinking it's high time that we get rid of the Statue of Liberty. That thing has been sitting up there in New York, getting greener and greener and giving people the wrong ideas about America.

We have a problem. We have 50,000 refugees, most of them kids, on our border. These kids and their parents were told that freedom and opportunity was waiting for them in America. Best of all, they probably wouldn't have to live in fear of being raped or hacked to death with a machete. What they didn't know is, there is a process. So where would people get an idea like this?  Maybe they saw this:

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

That, my friends, is called advertising and we have one of the biggest billboards in the world (and you can even crawl up its skirt and look out its hat). You see, we were different Americans in 1886, heck, more than 120,000 Americans worked together, most pitching in just a dollar to get the thing installed. Well, we're not those people anymore. One of the quotes I actually got from somebody was "We have enough poor and hungry here already."

So we definitely need to get rid of that first line on the statue. Wow, I just realized that those people on the border are also "huddled masses, yearning to break free." So that needs to go, too. Oh, and much like your great-great grandpa, a lot of these folks are accused of being "diseased" because they didn't come from here, so let's get rid of "the wretched refuse line" and we SURE AS HELL don't want that line about "send these, the homeless" in there. I guess we can just keep the line that says "I lift my lamp" because it doesn't really commit us to anything.

Or maybe we can just melt it down to make bullets to keep people out.

*Oh, we have one other small problem too. In 2008 George W. Bush signed something called "The Trafficking Victims Protection Act" that mandates that "all illegal alien children be transferred to the office of refugee resettlement within 24 hours of of setting foot on U.S. soil, or as soon as reasonably possible".
