KFMX has a long history of helping the South Plains Food Bank (ask your dad about the old "FMX Beach Parties"). It just makes sense to help the hungry this way. Canned and boxes foods are easy to distribute, organize and pass out. It also helps to have an organization involved because they can maximize the use of the food by combining it with other resources and donations. More after the jump.

Recently Linkin Park held a benefit concert for Japan, specifically the most damaged areas from the earthquake and tsunami. The benefit was in LA where they raised $500,000 by doing a free concert for everybody who raised $500 or more for "Save The Children". Finally during the recent Japanese leg of their tour, they got to actually tour those parts of the country and see the damage firsthand.
