Nightmare on 19th Street has become a Lubbock staple for everything that is Halloween, haunted amusement parks and horror. Blood curdling screams come from inside the attractions year in and year out. This year though promises to be the biggest as Nightmare returns in grand fashion.
2012 has been a great year for story lines and an even better year for ideas for Halloween costumes. Anyone can be a witch, doctor or ghost, but the topical costumes are so much better. Being timely makes for the perfect costumes
I think most of us wait until most movies make it to cable or Red Box. You have precious few dollars to spend at the theater, so the real question after the becomes 'is it worth my time'. Most visitors to Nightmare on 19th Street think that the park opens and closes in October and then just sits there for a year until it reopens a year later, but this could not be further from the truth. The masters of horror, Wes Nessman, Lynn Day and their merry band of monster makers take a few weeks off in November and then immediately jump right back into the construction process. Sunday’s finale of the second season of ‘The Walking Dead’ drew nine million viewers, the most in the series’ history. According to AMC, the show has also become the number one drama among 18-to-49 year-old men in basic cable history.
So suffice to say there are a whole bunch of folks anxiously awaiting season three of the post-apocalyptic zombie-fest. While that won’t come until October, according to producer Glen Mazzara, it should be worth the wait.
We have been desensitized to so much that this movie might not be all that shocking to you, but in 1972 this is about as far as you could go. I have been hearing about this movie for quite sometime and it just started making the rounds of the premium channels. Now, there's only one thing that may "put you off" in this movie and it's these kids have heavy, heavy English accents, plus use a lot of hip-hop slang.
