Along with cookies-n-creme ice cream, soap operas, and shot-gunning beer, the Bad Lip Reading videos are a guilty pleasure of mine. I could watch them over and over. This time around they take on The Amazing Spider-Man and even give Peter Parker a chance to 'freestyle'.
Let's be honest here. I give the video an "A", I give the song a "C-". I guess the band "The Darkness" has been better in theory than in reality. Even though I've started out by dissing the guys, you're going to want to watch the video once just to store some images in your personal "spank bank". More after the jump.
This is some HILLBILLY stuff! It incorporates elements of folk, bluegrass and reminds me a bit of the Grateful Dead. This is pro-pot music and is not for everybody. In fact, the guys are apparently so stoned that they didn't notice that two of the videos are basically the same thing (flashing back and forth between still pictures). Conan takes a shot at the new "Tomb Raider" game and is a little overwhelmed with the responsibility of dealing with Lara Croft. It seems this version of Ms. Croft is a little too real and maybe a little too sexy for Conan. I do have to agree, those tight pants from behind are a thing of beauty. Although Mad Season only got 1 album done before Layne Staley's overdose, "Above" was such an incredible album that it still stands against anything today. And now it's getting a re-issue and mini documentary.
Why does Sebastian Bach sound like he's on helium in this video? I don't know. But he can still sing, if you can get past the whole "he sounds like he's on helium when he talks" bit.
