The College World Series has come to a close and with it just one team stands victorious. The Virginia Cavaliers doubled up the Vanderbilt Commodores in the third and final game of the College World Series on Wednesday night, winning 4-2.

The first championship in college baseball earned by Virginia certainly wasn't an easy task, as the defending champion Commodores proved why they deserved a College World Series bid.

However, the Cavs were able to overcome and clinch the grandest title in all of college baseball.

As we look to next season, it'll be interesting to see what teams like Virginia and Vanderbilt do, but also teams who were on the cusp, such as LSU or TCU. Time will tell, but until next year, congrats to the Cavaliers of Virginia!
