Cheech Marin Chicano Artwork Collection On Display At The Texas Tech Landmark Gallery

Who would have ever thought when we were sitting around in a smoke filled room listening to Cheech and Chong records that one day Cheech Marin would have a Chicano art collection on display here in Lubbock.

Beginning today, the Texas Tech Landmark Gallery will feature Marin's art collection Chicanitas: Small Paintings from the Cheech Marin Collection, on display from Oct. 3 through Dec. 14.

The collection consists of seventy works of art from twenty-nine painters.

Marin will discuss his collection tonight at 7 p.m. for this Presidential Lecture & Performance Series event in the Allen Theatre.

The Texas Tech Landmark Gallery is located in the School of Art Building at 18th and Flint.
