A Mississippi County has banned clowns until after Halloween. Ugh, really?

Kemper County Mississippi thought that clowns were so dangerous that all clown costumes, makeup and masks are banned until November 1. If you're seen wearing any of that you'll get hit with a, not so funny, $150 five.

I don't know why but this banning of clowns reminds me so much of our local Judge Tom Head and our Governor who bought into all of the Jade Helm political conspiracy theories.  What we have is apparently full grown adults buying into the most ridiculous nonsense ever, with zero proof, and unfortunately handing that paranoia down to the people.

What happened to "leaders"? Are we no longer voting for the most educated and wisest of the wise? Are we just voting for people who appeal to our base fears.  Or let me put it this way, do you think the greatest threat to America on the day of this vote in Kemper Mississippi was "clowns"?

Politicians who buy into internet rumors are kooks, cranks or maybe even worse, opportunists. Simply put, you can vote against clowns, but by doing so, it makes you one.
