Creationists To Teach That Dinosaurs Walked With Humans At Lubbock Conference

Oh dear lawd. Science is just plain tough for some people to understand.

A conference called “Unlocking the Mysteries of Genesis Conference” will be held at LCU. I hate to tell you this, but if you go, you're going to come out dumber.  This group is peddling the idea that humans walked with dinosaurs around 6,000 years ago. Most scientific evidence points at dinosaurs being wiped out 66 million years ago. That's a bit of a difference in timelines wouldn't you say?

You guys do realize that right here in town we have the Lubbock Lake Landmark which has fossils that are 12,000 years old (twice what young earth creationists believe)?  Heck, I personally own a kneecap of a bison, with human tool marks that is dated at about 10,000 years ago.

I do believe people have a right to believe whatever they want to believe, but teaching this 6,000 year nonsense is stupid and irresponsible. Even worse, this kind of teaching is laughable. I implore you, as a citizen of the world, don't let your kids participate in this kind of ignorance.  Your beliefs can still be aligned with some existing science, but the notion that the world is only 6,000 years old, and that humans walked with dinosaurs, is ridiculous.
