For the first time in his career, Dale Earnhardt Jr. won at the Paperclip in Virginia, Martinsville.

The #88 team was plagued with the task of moving to the front from fifth with just over a handful of laps. Earnhardt Jr. had no problem, blowing by the likes of Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman, both of which now lie at the top of the points standings.

No, Junior can't win the championship this year, but he specifically said after the race that he's out there to win, and win he did.

Gordon, Newman, Tony Stewart and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.

We move along to the heralded race a few hours east, as Texas Motor Speedway is the next stop Sunday.
