Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl surprised a Toronto crowd at last night’s (Aug. 24) Prophets of Rage gig. During the show’s encore, Grohl showed up with his guitar and stepped behind a mic for a cover of MC5’s “Kick Out the Jams.”

Prophets of Rage are only a few days into their 2016 ‘Make America Rage Again’ North American tour, but they’ve already busted out a big surprise. The Toronto concert was being streamed in real time by Live Nation TV, so thousands of fans on top of the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre audience got to witness Grohl’s surprise cameo.

The entire show can be seen on Prophets of Rage’s Facebook page. At around the 2:03:45 mark, Grohl comes out to a thunderous ovation. With a wild look in his eyes, Grohl simply screamed, “Kick out the jams, motherf—ker!” before launching into the MC5 classic.

Foo Fighters recently trolled the world earlier this year when drummer Taylor Hawkins announced the band was taking a hiatus. Soon after, the Foos made an elaborate video revealing their “new vocalist” to be 98 Degrees’ Nick Lachey. As for Prophets of Rage, they’ll be touring North America until Oct. 16.
