The saga of "What can't Dave Grohl do?" has hit a new high. During a Foo Fighters performance tonight (June 12) in Gothenburg, Sweden, Grohl fell off the stage and broke his leg. Despite this serious injury, Grohl was able to finish the show anyway.

Dave Grohl is a Renaissance man. He's a prolific musician, documentary film maker Record Store Day ambassador, and now, certified badass. Fan-shot footage posted to YouTube doesn't show the actual fall, which happened during a performance of "Monkey Wrench," which was only the second song in Foo Fighters' set. However, it does capture Dave Grohl addressing the crowd right after the accident.

"Ladies and gentleman… I love you too motherf---ers," Grohl began. "Now look, I think I just broke my leg. I think I REALLY broke my leg. So look, you have my promise, right now, that the Foo Fighters; we're gonna come back and finish the show. Right now, I'm gonna go to the hospital. I'm gonna fix my leg, but then I'm gonna come back and we're gonna play for you again. I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. We're gonna do it, but right now, Taylor Hawkins, you've gotta do it. You've gotta do it."

According to Consequence of Sound, Foo Fighters continued the show without Grohl, as Taylor Hawkins assumed vocal duties for a batch of cover songs. Eventually, Dave Grohl was actually wheeled back onto the stage and finished the concert sitting in a chair with his leg bandaged up. "I may not be able to walk or run, but I can still play guitar and scream," proclaimed Grohl.

Fans are currently sharing photos on Reddit. Additional video can be found this Swedish live streaming site. Once again, we must proclaim out utmost respect for Mr. Dave Grohl.

It's not yet known how the injury will affect Foo Fighters planned North American tour, which is slated to kick off July 4 in Washington, D.C.

Update: Dave Grohl did in fact break his leg, as evidenced by the X-ray shared on Foo Fighters' Twitter page a short while ago:
