On the Nov. 28 episode of Foo Fighters' HBO series, 'Sonic Highways,' the band focused on the birthplace of grunge music, Seattle. Along with the entertaining story on Dave Grohl's transition from Nirvana to Foo Fighters, the musician revealed the unheard track 'Hooker on the Street,' which may be the most bizarre song Grohl has ever written.

After Kurt Cobain's death in 1994, it was clear that Nirvana could not continue without him. Nirvana died with Cobain, leaving bassist Krist Novoselic, guitarist Pat Smear and drummer Dave Grohl to find their next endeavors. Grohl and Smear quickly formed Foo Fighters and, obviously, experienced monumental success.

However, while Nirvana was in its final years, Dave Grohl had already written upward of 40 solo songs according to producer Barrett Jones. One of those tracks was 'Hooker on the Street,' which finally debuted over 20 years after its creation. The rough demo features hilarious James Brown and Glenn Danzig-style vocal parts along with a heavy funk backdrop.

According to Grohl in the 'Sonic Highways' episode, Kurt Cobain was a fan of Dave's bizarre works. “Kurt heard that, and kissed me on the face, as he was in a bath,” Grohl recounted. “He was so excited. He was like, ‘I heard you recorded some stuff with Barrett.’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ He was like, ‘Let me hear it.’ I was too afraid to be in the same room as he listened to it.” [via Consequence of Sound]
