It was on this day in 2002 that we lost the lead singer of Drowning Pool, Dave Williams. He was found on his tour bus in Manassas, Virginia. Despite all the rumors surrounding his death regarding drug and alcohol use it was later confirmed to be a heart problem.

I will be the first to say that Drowning Pool is one of the most underrated bands of all time with Dave Williams on vocals.

When you look back in 2001 there wasn't a lot happening in rock and roll. The world was still being ruled by "boy bands" and "pop princess." When Drowning Pool's album "Sinner" was released it was such a breath of fresh air. It was like rock and roll had wind in its sail. I hold Dave William's "Drowning Pool" at a very high standard.

Drowning Pool didnt silence the boy band era or crush the pop princess, but they did give us one of the best albums of all time. And at that time in rock and roll it was exactly what we needed.

We cant think of what would of happened if Dave wasnt taken from us, all we can do is throw our horns up for Dave Williams, one of the best frontmen rock and roll had seen at that time.
