Do You Want To Add Bacon To That? [VIDEO]

Can someone please tell me when the nation wide obsession with bacon started? It's not like bacon is a newly discovered food, but for some reason over the past few years more and more people have admitted to loving bacon.

Not long ago whenever I would go any place and to get a burger I could count on the person taking my order to ask, "do you want cheese on that?" Now it seems they all skip that question and ask, "do you want to add bacon to that?"

Now there are even wearable items like shirts, socks, underwear, shoelaces, and who knows what else that enables the hard core bacon lover to proclaim their love of the tasty breakfast meat.

With eggs, on a burger, wrapped around a jalapeno, or just alone, I love me some bacon, but  I do have to draw the line at mixing it into a shake or coating it in chocolate.
