This footage from a documentary titled ‘Burn,’ about the brave firefighters of a Detroit, Michigan firehouse, gives the audience a first-person view of what firefighters see while fighting a four-alarm house fire.

The filmmakers attached helmet cams to all the people involved in fighting a blaze; from the cadet dousing the flames using the truck hose to the first wave of firemen attacking the flames by chainsawing holes in the roof before jumping down into the inferno.

This film is still in development because of lack of funding. The filmmakers have started a “Kickstarter” campaign and hope to raise $80,000 to get the project back on track and tell the stories of these brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way in one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. It’s inspiring to know these brave men and women exist, even in places like Detroit, where hope seems to have taken a permanent vacation. Unless you’re a Lions fan.
