Blood in, blood out. It's not just a gang thing, it's also how I live me personal life. The way I look at it, being a relative gets you a free invitation to the party, but doesn't mean you get to stay.

I see people all the time on social media anguished over their familiar relationships being on the fritz. I don't even understand that. What do you need a cousin for? If you're cousin is a jerk, he/she is a jerk and there's no reason to stress over it. I feel the same way about aunts, uncles, grandparents and more. I don't see "blood" as a reason to take b.s. off of anyone.

Everyone needs a support base, but if you're not getting support from your base, then it's time to change it out to other people, related or not. I have absolutely zero regrets living this way. I try to be cool to the relatives that are cool to me, and don't bother with the hateful ones.

Some of you need to drop some baggage in order to rise above where you are at now. My advice is, don't be afraid to do it. Move up and on. Someone in your family had to be the first to go to college, to move to the big city, to be famous, to be an artist or whatever. That person might as well be you.
