One thing I've missed lately here in the Hub City has been some good blues. Back in the day we always had a steady diet of blues players that would make stops in here town. For some reason it's getting harder to find a dark, smokey spot to hear some roadhouse jams.

The 2nd annual Texas Blues and Brews Festival will fill the void when Texas blues-men and some of Lubbbock's Ale-ian home-brewer's gather for blues, brews and BBQ.

The Republic On Texas (25th and Texas) will host the festival today from 1-8pm.

Sample Texas home-brew, eat the BBQ and hear blues from Wade Parks, True Blue, Sparky's Garden, Robin Griffin, Michael Prysock and the Kent Mings Band.

Admission is $20 and the first 200 entrants get a free souvenir tasting glass.

If you need to find me today...you know where I'll be.
