Evanescence‘s Amy Lee was awarded the Best Vocalist honor at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Having just belted out ‘Made of Stone’ and other tunes for the award show audience, it’s no surprise that the celebrated singer took home the prize.

Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed presented the award, with Snider joking, “I just found out this isn’t for me, so I’m pretty f—in’ bummed. Apparently without a lead singer, most bands would be really boring and I’d rather swap my wife with Flavor Flav’s than hear an instrumental band.” Not a big Behold… the Arctopus fan Dee?

With the other nominees Sebastian Bach, Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides, James Durbin, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch and Korn‘s Jonathan Davis in the running, Lee managed to collect enough votes to win the award.

“Thank you guys so much, I don’t know what to say, this is a surprise and I’m very grateful, said Lee. “It’s an honor to be here to rock for you tonight. There’s only one main person to thank for this and it’s the fans … thank you for making it possible for chicks to rock in music.”
