Smoke and his crew seemed to get the right setup at the exact right time, capitalizing on Jimmie Johnson violating the rules by passing Juan Pablo Montoya on a restart before the restart line. Montoya was first off of pit road, Johnson was second.

Jeff Gordon hung back in the pack for most of the race, but found some success near the end, finishing third behind Montoya and Stewart.

Kyle Busch was strong most of the race and ended up finishing fourth.

Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.
