So we sit here counting down the days to the biggest concert event we've had in forever......and we have a  chance of rain.  So what do we do? Well, in short, we get wet.

Unlike the FMX Birthday Bash, there is no place to move this event too.  There is no indoor place that can handle two stages. It would suck to move just the big bands indoors and cut half of the show. Even if you did that, how do you decide which bands to cut?  These band ARE coming to Lubbock (as a matter of fact, many more bands are coming that aren't even playing, but that's another story).

The only way to handle a situation like this is minute to minute.  Some bands will not play in the rain.  Some sound boards are more sensitive to moisture than others. If it looks like a disaster the day before, maybe some things will be decided in advance. The promoter has one main goal, and that's to get the two headliners on stage.  What generally happens is if there is some rain, things are pushed up a bit.  With so many bands on this bill, there's not much room, so bands start getting dropped if it is raining during their set time.

Plus right now, rain is not certain. Some is likely, but that just means that you might get some and it might be in the area where you are.  You guys ought to know very well by now that there can be a 90% chance of rain and NONE will hit where you are. Let's also keep in mind that that forecast is a long ways away.  The forecast can change.  Friday it said a 70 chance of rain, and as of this writing (Sunday afternoon) it's already been downgraded to a 40% chance.

I would say prepare to get wet and prepare to enjoy whatever Mother Nature allows us to enjoy.  I would also tell you that there is NO WAY all of the people who have already bought tickets can fit under the Pavilion.  I know you don't see it much, but it's just rain.  Get wet, get muddy and have some great stories to tell.   I saw the Rolling Stones play in the pouring rain and neither the fans nor the band where going to let it ruin their good night.  If those old ass folks can handle it, there surely a bunch of hard rockers can suck it up and party too.
