Texas Tech baseball's Gabe Holt was named a Baseball America First Team Freshman All-American. That's the fifth time this off-season.

According to texastech.com, he earned the award from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Perfect Game and D1 Baseball over the course of the summer. It's the most tallied by a Red Raider and makes Gabe Holt the first unanimous freshman selection in school history.

Being the first in program history is extra special in a school with rich baseball history like Texas Tech. No one else in the years of success have been unanimous. Not Josh Jung or Grant Little. Not Eric Gutierrez. Not Josh Bard.

Holt started every game this season and had 94 hits with a  .348 batting average. He also had 44 RBI and 70 runs scored to go with 29 stolen bases and wasn't caught stealing in the regular season.

He reached base in his first 29 collegiate games.

Holt also received Freshman of the year from the Big 12 and was a member of the First Team All-Big 12 and a unanimous member of the Freshman All-Big 12 team.

If Gabe Holt continues his success at Texas Tech he might find himself in the conversation of greatest Red Raiders of all-time, unanimously.
