Get The Popcorn, Councilman Hernandez May Run For Mayor

They called mobster John Gotti "The Teflon Don" because no charges ever stuck to him.  Victor Hernandez should be called "The Teflon Councilman" for the same reason. This guys past is so checkered you make a tablecloth out of it.

Hernandez was the subject of a recall election. There are also some who say he was elected illegally to begin with. It's in the Lubbock Charter that you can't hold public office if you owe the city tax money, and he owed a lot. He used legal loopholes to squat in his house after it was foreclosed on. He was part of the tangled web of LP&L problems. He was recently taken to task by the Lubbock Police Officers Association for political grandstanding and improper release of information in an open investigation.

I could literally sit here and come up with dozens of instances of Hernandez either operating in a foolish or contentious manner while on the city council. How this gentleman has slithered though the political process this long is beyond me. I would think a bowl of pudding would do a better job serving as our mayor. That's it.  "Pudding For Mayor". Let's do this.
