Governor Abbott’s Call to Amend the Constitution Could Backfire

I'm sorry my friends, but I believe our governor may be king of the kooks. Of course, he's probably a very smart man, which makes his politics even more vile.

Abbott is now calling for a "convention of states" to amend the constitution and take back power from the Federal Government. Now let me stop right here and say "United We Stand, Divided We Fall".

Abbott is furthering the idea that Federal Government is an enemy of states rights and that leads to extremists and idiots like we currently have in Oregon.  Among other things, he wants an amendment that would allow two-thirds of the states to be able to overturn Supreme Court decisions.

I am saying "let's go for it". I am personally tired of hearing about what people said and wrote 200 years ago. It's a new age and maybe we should examine our constitution from the top to the bottom.

Maybe we should remove the words "well regulated militia" from the second amendment or limit free speech to only the kind of speech we like. Maybe we should just "put it all out there" to the world that we're not the United States that we used to be. I think it's better to admit our tomfoolery than to pretend it doesn't exist. I would like to see a lot of stuff clarified just so everyone knows where we stand.

Right now, the governor is doing some "saber-rattling" to stir up political points with his base. Little does he know that this could back fire on him to an insane level.
