I stumbled across this article and it kind of stunned me. Then I thought, well, it's kind of a natural fit. With the exception of this rain-soaked year, you could probably expect that any animal that could do well in Africa could do well in Texas.

So apparently hunters were importing warthogs for sport. There's one problem: being a burrowing animal, apparently some have got out.

Now we have a population of sorts in South Texas.

The article goes onto say that it's not even known if they are breeding yet or how many are around. They have no natural predators to worry about here in Texas, so getting a real population is very possible. It's kind of crazy that one of these African Devil Pigs might just show up on your doorstep someday.
