I just got off the phone with the promoter and was informed there is still not an opening act for Guns N' Roses. I was also told that that's how it frequently happens on their headline dates. An opener may be announced just days before the show, and there's always the possibility there won't be one. With G N' R shows sometimes stretching into the 3 hour range, we don't think it's a huge deal either. All we can say is with this this hot weather, it's a good thing that Guns doesn't play until later into the night. More after the jump.

So who could it be?  Well it will probably be somebody you've heard of.  Gun n' Roses would no doubt have no opening act rather than an unproven opening act.  For our part we noticed the band Hurt is around the area but would have to do a long haul to play the show.  We're really pitching the idea of Hurt because they really bring home that some bombastic almost orchestral rock that would fit right in with Guns n' Roses.  Then again, we don't know who, if anyone else is available.  We get to offer a suggestion and from that point managers have to meet, money has to be looked at, and the simple logistics of getting the band here all come into play.

As we said before, this is a Guns n' Roses show. It would be INSANE to purchase a ticket with any concern about an opening band whatsoever.  It's also crazy to even think about GNR taking the stage anytime before eleven or twelve at night.  It's just what they do and you're either into it or your not.
