Hellyeah To Drop New Album ‘Band of Brothers’ in June

Just a few weeks after drummer Vinnie Paul shared his excitement exclusively with Loudwire about Hellyeah‘s forthcoming third album and telling us they were thisclose to selecting a title, the band has finally revealed that information. The title is ”Band of Brothers’ and it’s certainly appropriate for this thick-as-thieves metal wrecking crew.

Paul also told us the band had returned to the metal roots that defined the individual members’ pedigrees, as they cut their teeth in brutal bands such as Pantera, Mudvayne and Nothingface.

The album will be released via Eleven Seven Music and it’s the fivesome’s first effort for the label, having released the two prior albums (2007′s self-titled affair and 20101′s ‘Stampede’) via Epic.

‘Band of Brothers’ was recorded in Dallas at Paul’s home studio, dubbed VP’s Upstairs Studio. The band co-produced alongside Jeremy Parker, who has worked with Godsmack and Evanescence. It’s due to drop in June.

Some track titles from ‘Band of Brothers’ are as follows: ‘Band of Brothers,’ ‘War in Me,’ ‘Rage Burn’ and ‘Drink, Drank Drunk,’ the latter of which admittedly has the same anthemic energy as the band’s previous work.

“I’m really excited about what we’ve done on this new album,” frontman Chad Gray declares in a press release. “I’ve always separated Mudvayne and Hellyeah as much as I could, even though it was my voice. Melodies, lyrics and just the overall style of writing were different. With ‘Band of Brothers,’ I just quit being afraid of who I am in relation to this band. I think we’ve all really gotten back to the original roots of what we’ve done individually and brought it together on this album.”

He continued, “As an artist, as long as you’re painting with your own brush, no one can compare or challenge you. I just painted with a bigger, heavier brush than I had with Hellyeah in the past. I think this is what fans have always expected to hear from us, and now we’re giving it to them.”

A bigger, heavier brush? Sounds good to us!

Paul’s sentiments were similar during his chat with us, saying, “On our first two records, we were a new band. We really wanted to branch out and expand and experiment with all different styles. We all come from traditional metal bands and backgrounds, so it was a great breath of fresh air to play in a band that was rock ‘n’ roll, blues and Southern rock. We got that out of our system and got really focused on going back to our metal roots. It’s heavy, focused, groove-oriented and I’m excited about it.”

The band will announce a North American tour itinerary soon. But there are dates are already on the docket for Australia and Japan.
