Hollywood Undead have surprise-released a new EP, titled Psalms. The effort features five tracks, two of which were released earlier this year ("Another Level" and "Gotta Let Go"). Sonically, the release showcases the group's furthered progression beyond their foundational breed of aggressive rock.

“We tackle darker subjects such as life, death and suicide. As a band, we try to convey messages of hope and with this project specifically, redemption,” says Johnny 3 Tears. “If I could speak to every individual who needs help I would. But no one can do that, and that’s why we make the music we do. Hopefully we can help someone with these songs. They have definitely helped us."

Additionally, it looks as though the band have officially ditched their masks. A Reddit post from August asked whether they had kicked the concept for live performances, and although they have yet to publicly address it, their latest promotional picture (see above) features them unmasked.

Hollywood Undead will join Cypress Hill in February for a co-headlining tour. The band has stated that a new full-length effort is in the works. It is unclear whether this EP has delayed those plans at all. The group collaborated with Cypress Hill's B-Real on the song "Black Cadillac," which is featured on their last album, V.
