I guess we're all heard the term "blessings in disguise". I suppose the frozen tundra outside ended up being that for some people. The ice severely hindered many peoples plans to go out and not doubt reduced the number of drunk drivers on the road.

Many of you were left to your own devices on New Years Eve.  Not being able to visit a friends or a club on the big day may have even been a bit odd to you. Then there are those of you who planned to stay home but may or may not have been able to pack in party supplies.

I do the same thing every year. I cut up vegetables to dip, add some cheese and cracker chunks, some chips and defrost some shrimp. This year I was fortunate enough to actually have a bottle of bubbly (courtesy of the fine folks at the radio station) so that was pretty awesome.  I guess all this sounds pretty festive to you, right?  Yeah, it was, until I started falling asleep at around 8:30 and gave it up around 9:00.  When you work morning hours like I do, you never really get used to them and you stay tired.  Between getting up at 3:45 yesterday and being woken up constantly during my nap to deal with the radio stations signal problems, there was no way I was going to make it to midnight.

Other than the good friends, family and pets, I guess the highlight of my night was the Bill Burr comedy special on Netflix, I HIGHLY recommend this one.  Oh, and if you have "Starz", don't miss "The Missing", it's an INTENSE mini-series that we managed to get a couple of episodes in.

So there you go, I'm sure all of this screams "rock and roll lifestyle" to you. When I get my party on, it's on and when I don't, well I'm in bed by nine like last night.

So how do you make out being stranded at home (or were you) on New Years Eve?  Other than your friends or family, what was your highlight? Did you make some good food, watch a good t.v. show or whip somebody on the PS4?
