How Hot Has It Been On The South Plains? Cookies Anyone?

It was only a few months ago when everyone was complaining about how cold it was outside and saying they were ready for Summer. Now that the Summer heat has set in everyone is complaining about it being too hot.

If there is one thing I am sure of it is that people are never happy with the weather.

Unless it's my Woody. That woman LOVES the Summer heat like you would not believe.

Last week when temperatures were over the 100 degree mark most people were complaining about how hot it was, but not her, nope she took advantage of the heat.

Normally, her taking advantage of the heat would mean she was at the pool or the lake, but last week she was stuck at work so she had to find another way to enjoy the warm weather.

I called her on my way to work to check on her and she told me she was great, that she was baking cookies. It wasn't long after that I got a message from her with a picture of a cookie sheet filled with cookies. I sent her a message back to be sure and save me some.

That evening we were watching a movie and eating cookies when I asked her if they were the cookies she made earlier. That's when she said, Yeah, didn't you get the picture I sent you"

It was then that I finally realized what she meant by she was great and baking cookies (while at work). That crazy woman used the heat inside her car to bake chocolate chip cookies.

She is headed for Vegas this week and when people ask her if she has heard it will be 118 while she's there and what she plans to do since it will be so hot. She just smiles and says, "yes I love warm weather so I am going to make a brisket, baked potatoes, roasted corn, and rolls while I enjoy the lovely weather.

If they only knew the woman meant on the dashboard of a car while she's in a casino...
